An intricate sculptural orchestra from the Brazilian electroacoustic duo.
In the last of a series of works from Brazilian festival Novas Frequências’s 2020 programme, Fact presents a recording of Constelação, a mesmerising recording of a sound installation by O Grivo, a project created by Minas Gerais duo Nelson Soares and Marcos Moreira.
The duo, who have been working together since the late 1990s, work with electronic and acoustic sound sources, using traditional musical instruments and intricately engineered sound mechanisms to create unique sculptural orchestras.
Constelação (Constellation), which was produced specially for Novas Frequências, shows one of the duo’s electroacoustic installations, in which motors strike small objects and scrape steel sheets to create complex timbres and tones.
